Small acts. Big gain.

It's been a full week.

Not just inside AUM@home, but out here in real life too. The kind of week where you find yourself thinking it's Friday when it's only Wednesday, and you've crossed off almost everything on your daily to-do list, and then some. Like extra workouts and meditation sessions, long conversations with good people, soccer practices, awards ceremonies and band concerts, extra writing time, new recipes and little mindful mom-moments in unexpected situations.

Like agreeing on a safe word with your tweenager. And then actually using it. And feeling genuinely proud of yourself for pausing before reacting. I shared about it earlier this week because honestly, it felt like the most yogic thing I'd done in a while. And it had nothing to do with a yoga mat.

THIS WEEK

Inside the AUM@home Community

We've been talking steady, disciplined actions that support the direction you want to go (aka tapas). And what I'm realizing more and more is that tapas is the practice of living in real life.

If you'd like to see and learn how we're talking the talk and walking the walk, this is what's waiting for you inside the Community:

➡️ A core class built around small, subtle movements that your body will absolutely feel the next day.

➡️ A Yin practice woven through the philosophy of tapas and what it means to use everything, even the hard stuff, as compost and fuel for becoming.

➡️ And a short breathwork session, under ten minutes, using alternate nostril breathing to smooth out the energy when life tips one way or the other.

All three (and so much more) are waiting for you inside AUM@home.

Before I forget, next Sunday morning, June 21st at 8:00am, I'm hosting a 108 Sun Salutations practice online and I would love for you to join me. This is one of those experiences that sounds big and feels even bigger, but you'll come out the other side wondering how you ever doubted yourself. Details are on the calendar inside the Community.

Lastly, if you've been thinking about La Solitude, our August 7th to 9th retreat, only four spots remain. These gatherings are intentionally small so they are that much more meaningful. If something in you keeps returning to the idea, that's worth listening to.

Big love,

xoM

Hey Reader, School's out for summer and I don't know about you, but as much as I love my family, already I can feel myself craving the solitude and structure of my normal routine. The one that gives me space to plan, to practice, to think, and to put pen to paper in the quiet pockets of the day. But... that will have to wait until September. For now, all I can do is try my best to go with the flow. And here's my plan for that: RISE and PRACTICE with me! PJ Yoga all summer long! Three mornings...

Yoga, in your PJs

I don't know about you but it has been a week. Honestly, it was one of those weeks where the practice had to come off the mat more than once just to keep me sane. If you caught my reel earlier this week, you know what I mean. Five minutes away from my laptop and onto my mat, a few stretches, one very well-timed dog visit, and I was a completely different person. That IS the practice. Not the perfect hour. Just five minutes when you need it most. In the live-classes this week, we moved through...

The view at La Solitude in NB

Good morning Reader , I was on my mat every day this week, both for my own practice and my teaching one. But the moments that really stuck with me most weren't the experiences on the mat. They were in my foggy midday walk along a rocky shoreline, where the only thought I had was: one step, then the next, in the direction I want to go. They were the sidelines of my son's soccer practice, where mindfulness looked like nothing more than noticing how I was standing there are the observer. They...
