Hi Reader If I’ve gleaned anything over the years of practicing Yoga, it’s that every time I get on my mat, I need something different. Some days, my body needs to move or build strength. Some days, I need to slow down, breathe, and settle my mind. And some days, I need to support an injury, low energy, stress, digestive discomfort, or whatever else life has 'happened' in my body, mind and heart. My practice changes because I change. And yours should, too. It's a bold statement, I know. But it's the truth. I see so many people practicing yoga and pushing beyond what they are capable of, or skipping the mat session all together because they just don't know what to do for themselves. And that's exactly why I love to teach and why I built AUM@home. The AUM@home community is a place where you not only get access to my live classes, and over 350 organized and searchable recordings. You get access to me. And by that I mean, you can tell me what you are working through and where you need support, and I will offer you options and modifications for your practice. You can say, "Michelle, I'm dealing with a shoulder injury, tight hamstrings, tech neck, etc." and I will gladly offer you suggestions on how to support that. You can ask me things like, what do you suggest for better sleep? Or do you have something that can help me slow down my monkey mind. I love to create classes tailored to specific needs for real people, like yourself, who is busy in all the ways and just wants snippets of practices to include in a regular routine that will support real results. So yea, that's what I offer inside the community. And if you'd like to come check things out for yourself, I offer a free 7-day trial to get you started. On that note, I'd also like to say that sometimes, what you need is not another class or practice. Sometimes, you need a deeper understanding of yourself. Because choosing what will support you begins with being able to recognize what you need in the first place. That is the deeper work I'm offering in The Inward Journey, my upcoming 12-week Yoga and Ayurveda immersion for women. Together, we will use Yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and the Chakra system to better understand your energy, your patterns, your body’s intelligence, and how all of it connects to your daily life. This is not about getting better at Yoga. It is about understanding yourself through it. The Inward Journey begins September 23rd and includes 12 live online sessions, two personal 1:1 sessions with me, weekly practices, and one full year inside the AUM@home community. Early bird registration is $997 plus HST until August 31, which is a savings of $200. But payment plans are also available. All you need to do is hit reply and ask. Earlier this week I sat at the kitchen table with my head in my hands, and ugly-cried over work stress. A few minutes into me losing my sh!t, my twelve-year-old walked into the kitchen, put his hand on my back and started to consciously take deep breaths. He didn't say a word. He just stood there, beside me, breathing. Eventually I followed along and took a few deep breaths too. And, as you might guess, I calmed down. I've been teaching mindfulness and movement since the '90s. And there I...
Hi Reader, If you've been flowing along lately, you'll know that I've been writing a weekly article on Substack where I share something about my practice and how it has anchored and supported me through life's ups and downs. And even though I had every intention of writing one this week, it didn't happen. Old Michelle would be stressing to the max, frantically trying to get a piece together and uploaded. I would have lost sleep over it and likely would have erupted under the pressure of...
Reader I have to tell you about my week. Last weekend, I was leading the Tending Your Fire retreat at La Solitude in the beautiful, peaceful New Brunswick forest. And ever since, I feel like the Universe has been showing me all the ways that power can be harnessed and expressed. Or maybe it's that the retreat material has been landing for me on a much deeper level than I knew possible. I feel like I've had a plethora of aha moments ever since I departed. It's funny how that happens. I've...
