Good morning Reader I have a little confession to make... I am completely obsessed with the Winter Olympics. So much so there have been times these last couple of weeks where I've had multiple events streaming at once on different devices so I didn't miss anything. I even streamed the women's curling match the other day while I had the dog out for a walk at Point Pleasant Park. So much for one-pointed focus, eh? And as I’ve watched these incredible athletes compete, it hit me how powerful and lasting a few moments can be. A final score, a successful jump, the fastest run. In the blink of an eye, Olympic dreams are realized. But what we don’t see are the thousands of hours that led up to those moments. The early morning practices, the hard hits and missed landings, the consistency and devotion of repeating one simple act over and over again until it appears effortlessly flawless. And it reminded me of what we’ve been exploring inside the Skool community this month... simple rituals that over time become lived practices. Things like pausing to take a deep breath before you grab your phone, or unrolling your yoga mat and doing one pose for 2 mins, or simply slowing down and doing one thing at a time. These are the little things that, when practiced repeatedly, lead to lasting results. No different than refining your slap shot or tuck position as you speed down the ski hill. None of what we're doing looks flashy. But it goes on to build a kind of steadiness in the body and mind. And that leads to a kind of quiet strength that lives underneath the surface, supporting you in every other endeavour. As we move toward March, I’m working on a Core and Pelvic Floor theme. One where little repeated practices result in deep supportive strength. The kind that stabilizes you from the inside out. The kind that supports your spine, your breath, your confidence. If you're interested in learning more, I'll be offering a full 7-day free trial where you'll be able to see all of the classes, the rituals, the conversations and the community before deciding if you'd like to join in. No pressure! Just an invitation to come and see what we're practicing. Because whether you’re training for the Olympics or simply trying to feel a little steadier and balanced in your own life, it’s the small, daily choices that matter. I hope all is well in your world. And GO Canada GO! |

Hello hello Reader , Happy first day of spring! I enjoy winter, I really do. But this morning, as I stepped outside for my walk, a red-breasted robin was singing high up in the tree, and I have to say, I felt genuinely grateful for the signs of a new season. Spring doesn't always look the way we expect it to, and there is actually snow in the forecast here today, which made me laugh. Also, on my walks this week, I've noticed how the tree tips are starting to look fuzzy and new growth is...
Hello hello Reader , I want to share something a little personal with you today. I know what it's like to cough, sneeze, laugh too hard, or chase the dog around the yard and feel that quiet embarrassment that so many of us carry around without ever saying out loud. Incontinence is one of those things women often live with in silence, assuming it's just part of the deal after having babies, or getting older, or simply being a woman with a busy body and a full life. It doesn't have to be. What...
Good day, good day Reader , This time last week I was completely knocked down by a nasty flu. Fever, chills, headache… it was one of those bugs where you go to bed feeling fine and then somewhere in the middle of the night you wake up and know you're in for it. For three full days it was couch to bed, bed to couch, sipping water and broth, allowing my body the time it needed to rest and recover. It wasn’t how I would have planned to spend the week, but sometimes the body makes decisions that...
