Hi Reader, If you've been flowing along lately, you'll know that I've been writing a weekly article on Substack where I share something about my practice and how it has anchored and supported me through life's ups and downs. And even though I had every intention of writing one this week, it didn't happen. Old Michelle would be stressing to the max, frantically trying to get a piece together and uploaded. I would have lost sleep over it and likely would have erupted under the pressure of irritation and lack of follow-through with myself to someone, or everyone, in my household. But the Michelle sitting here today, putting this newsletter together, feels different. As a recovering perfectionist and multitasker, I'm realizing how much personal pressure I've been conditioned to put on myself, thinking that I need to do it all to fit in and be successful. But I'm realizing how liberating it is to just let sh!t go. Especially little things like not getting a post uploaded to social media. And if that's not a fitting reflection for the morning after a full moon and lunar eclipse, I don't know what is. My go-to astrologist, Jill Wintersteen, has helped me acknowledge full moons as a time to let nature illuminate the pieces and parts of me that I am ready to let go of. Compounded by the near-total lunar eclipse last night, this idea of releasing old habits, beliefs, and thought patterns gets amplified. And honestly, I'm feeling kind of relieved that I'm not stressing over whether I managed to get a post live this week or not. It's a nice change of pace! What about you? What little thing do you stress over that, in the big scheme of things, truly doesn't matter if it gets missed or falls a week behind schedule? Is this a long-standing pattern or belief? Are ready to put it down? Better yet, did you pick it up in the first place? Or did someone else hand it to you without you really realizing it? Because sometimes, before we can move forward, we need to notice all the crap we’ve been carrying that's unknowingly weighing us down. Which brings me to the September happenings inside the AUM@home community. First up, our monthly theme: (re)Connect. This is an invitation to reconnect with the practices and daily rituals that help you feel your best, day in and day out, in body, mind, and heart. From mat practices and meal ideas to stress management tips, everything will be accessible inside the new (re)Connect module starting September 1st. And if you're looking for something more this fall, The Inward Journey, a 12-week Yoga and Ayurveda immersion, is for anyone who wants to understand themselves more deeply through Yoga philosophy, Ayurvedic wisdom, and the Chakra system. Not as abstract ideas to memorize, but as practical tools that can help you recognize your patterns, understand your needs, and make choices that feel more supportive and aligned. This is not about becoming better at Yoga. It is about getting to know yourself through it. You can learn more about the immersion here: https://aumathome.ca/the-inward-journey/ And if nothing else, maybe this weekend, you can give yourself a little space to consider: What are you ready to put down? And what part of yourself are you ready to (re)connect with once you do? Have a beautiful weekend, my friends. And see you on the mat soon. xoM |

Earlier this week I sat at the kitchen table with my head in my hands, and ugly-cried over work stress. A few minutes into me losing my sh!t, my twelve-year-old walked into the kitchen, put his hand on my back and started to consciously take deep breaths. He didn't say a word. He just stood there, beside me, breathing. Eventually I followed along and took a few deep breaths too. And, as you might guess, I calmed down. I've been teaching mindfulness and movement since the '90s. And there I...
Hi Reader If I’ve gleaned anything over the years of practicing Yoga, it’s that every time I get on my mat, I need something different. Some days, my body needs to move or build strength. Some days, I need to slow down, breathe, and settle my mind. And some days, I need to support an injury, low energy, stress, digestive discomfort, or whatever else life has 'happened' in my body, mind and heart. My practice changes because I change. And yours should, too. It's a bold statement, I know. But...
Reader I have to tell you about my week. Last weekend, I was leading the Tending Your Fire retreat at La Solitude in the beautiful, peaceful New Brunswick forest. And ever since, I feel like the Universe has been showing me all the ways that power can be harnessed and expressed. Or maybe it's that the retreat material has been landing for me on a much deeper level than I knew possible. I feel like I've had a plethora of aha moments ever since I departed. It's funny how that happens. I've...
