Reader I have to tell you about my week. Last weekend, I was leading the Tending Your Fire retreat at La Solitude in the beautiful, peaceful New Brunswick forest. And ever since, I feel like the Universe has been showing me all the ways that power can be harnessed and expressed. Or maybe it's that the retreat material has been landing for me on a much deeper level than I knew possible. I feel like I've had a plethora of aha moments ever since I departed. It's funny how that happens. I've talked and taught about this stuff for years yet I'm still learning as I go. I wrote a bit about what has come to light for me earlier this week. It's over on my Substack feed if you're interested in reading how I've come to recognize something I honestly didn't realize was weighing me down. And since then, even more of these revelations and magic moments have landed. One after another after another. From meaningful conversations with my husband, clients and peers, to the New Moon and Solar Eclipse energy, to the thrashing waves of tidal bore rafting, to the sudden but short downpour that left a spectacular rainbow in its wake. I honestly feel the most alive I have felt in a really long time, and I know it's because my studentship to Yoga, Ayurveda and all of life really, has reached a whole new level. And then, the icing on the cake. Somewhere in the middle of the week, it hit me clear as day, the shape of The Inward Journey I'm offering this fall. The Chakra work, the way Yoga and Ayurveda will weave through every piece, and how it will all land for you. Not just as a yoga course, but as a healing and recalibrating journey. For years I have been dreaming of this offering, and although I've had the information in my head, I now feel like I understand it deep in my heart. And I can't wait for it all to come out. So, yea. What a week it has been. To each of you here who are showing up in the inbox, to those of you joining me on the mat, in-person or online, I thank you. Thank you for letting me share my passion while I come home to my own power and understanding, and keep learning what it means to live this life with happiness and joy as the destination. See you on the mat soon, |

Earlier this week I sat at the kitchen table with my head in my hands, and ugly-cried over work stress. A few minutes into me losing my sh!t, my twelve-year-old walked into the kitchen, put his hand on my back and started to consciously take deep breaths. He didn't say a word. He just stood there, beside me, breathing. Eventually I followed along and took a few deep breaths too. And, as you might guess, I calmed down. I've been teaching mindfulness and movement since the '90s. And there I...
Hi Reader, If you've been flowing along lately, you'll know that I've been writing a weekly article on Substack where I share something about my practice and how it has anchored and supported me through life's ups and downs. And even though I had every intention of writing one this week, it didn't happen. Old Michelle would be stressing to the max, frantically trying to get a piece together and uploaded. I would have lost sleep over it and likely would have erupted under the pressure of...
Hi Reader If I’ve gleaned anything over the years of practicing Yoga, it’s that every time I get on my mat, I need something different. Some days, my body needs to move or build strength. Some days, I need to slow down, breathe, and settle my mind. And some days, I need to support an injury, low energy, stress, digestive discomfort, or whatever else life has 'happened' in my body, mind and heart. My practice changes because I change. And yours should, too. It's a bold statement, I know. But...
